Petra is the legacy of the nabataeans, an industrious arab people who settled in south of jordan more than 2,000 years ago.

from a hidden staging post, they dominated the trade routes of ancient arabia, levying tolls and sheltering caravans laden with indian spices and skills, african ivory and animal hides.

Petra's most famous monument , the treasury , appears dramatically at the end of the ( siq ) . used in the final sequence of the film ( indiana jones and the last crusade ), this towering facade is only the first petra's secrets.

various walks and climbs reveal literally hundreds of buildings, facades, tombs, baths, and haunting rock drawing relief's - enough to keep you here for many days. you find a 7,000 - seat theater from the time of jesus, a palace tomb in the roman style, a gigantic third century deir ( monastery ).

Due to the remarkable walking involved in this tour and to the limited time, we normally arrange for our guests to reach just after the roman theater and the urn tomb.

following is our detailed schedule and distances inside petra site:-
starting point in petra to the beginning of the ( siq ) 1 km
the length of the (siq) is 1200 meters.

from the starting point to the treasury will be 2200 meters ( 2 km 200 meters )
from the visitors center to the basin restaurant  around 4 km
from the treasury to the basin restaurant around 2800 meters(2km & 800 meters )

Program full day petra - 10 hours tour

Time	Description
08:00	disembark and depart pier for petra
10:15	arrive visitors center parking area, use restrooms available in the visitors center also shopping facilities available, bank. note ; extra restrooms and shopping facilities are available at the deluxe crowne plaza -forum hotel / movenpick hotel 5 min. walk away from visitors center
10:30	mount horses ( near the entrance of petra) 15 minutes ride – walking is possible as another option for guests who do not like to ride a horse
10:45	dismount horses at the beginning of the ( siq ) and start walking through the ( siq ) for 25 - 30 minutes.
11:15	arrive treasury , continue walking through the valley, visiting the amphitheater, royal tombs, roman colonnade and the museum ( mostly level ground )
13:45	group meet with their guide / tour leader to walk back through the siq and return to where they left their horses.
14:15	ride horses to the starting point.
14:30	deluxe lunch to be served in 5 stars hotel such as movenpick or crowne plaza- forum or ( taybet zaman village - 15 km away from petra ).
16:00	depart for aqaba
18:00	arrive aqaba port and embarkation on the cruise ship

Time	Description
08:15	clients disembark for departure towards the dead sea - the lowest spot on earth
11:30	arrive to movenpick resort spa or similar, nice resort which created a close to nature , low profile to enhance guests experience of this special spot . free for leisure swim in the private beach on the heavy salty water , where you can float without moving any part of your body, may read a magazine or have a drink in the middle of the dead sea water. two outdoor deluxe pools are available –medical spa is available at extra cost on optional basis as well as various sport attractions.
13:30	lunch buffet will be served in the deluxe restaurant available in the movenpick resort or similar.
16:30	depart towards aqaba port
20:00	arrive aqaba port and embark on ship.

Any medical treatment , massage … etc note that they have a deluxe health spa managed by the leading health spa company ( sanctuary zara spa ), we shall send you the rates for treatments separately if
required, so we can make appointments for them ahead of time, for each person interested in such service.

Note that very limited treatments could be done in our full day tour.

Note :- hotel & resort spa movenpick is very well organized, there is some walking involved at the big resort, however for disabled or have walking problem guests , some limited electric golf / carts are available for these guests to facilitate their enjoyment.

17:00	start the adventurous safari desert tour in our deluxe jeeps, stop at a water spring in the desert, bedouin family at the desert and in alkhazali , where your guests will have many photo stops for wonderful scenes. enjoy the sunset in the middle of the desert.
19:15	return from the safari desert tour to wadi rum guest house to enjoy hot tea/ coffee in a bedouin tent, also to use clean facilities available, free time for photos.
19:30	depart wadi rum in our deluxe coaches a/c.

Note:- the culinary experience take 3 hours including lunch time if our guests would like to experience by themselves, if they want our petra ladies to demonstrate  and cook for them without their participation it will take 2 hours.

For children from age 2- 12 years –  apply 50 % from all above amounts/ rates.

For children above of age 12 years, normal adult rates apply - same as above folklore show aboard the ship we can arrange our folklore dancers 10- 14 participants with their traditional uniforms to have a show aboard the bw , we have done this before in previous calls, as your cruise will be sailing late at 23:00 , this will be an option for entertainment to our guests after a long day tours to have a memorable and enjoyable stay of jordan.   

Shuttle bus services in aqaba

We can arrange a shuttle service in aqaba between cruise ship and aqaba down town city for leisure and free time for full day upon ship arrival till departure. a detailed schedule could be arranged according to cruise director request.

 Half day tour - Wadi Rum

Adventures in this tour have the rare opportunity to see spectacular scenery wadi rum ranks with petra as one of jordan's ( must see ) locales. this area became famous in 1917 - 1918 during the arab revolt led by the great enigma t.e. lawrence . in fact, desert scenes from the film lawrence of arabia were shot here. the mystical lawrence rhapsodized in his book (seven pillars of wisdom ) about ( parallel parapets ) and ( stupendous hills). tour members will go across jordan's mountainous back country to the valley of wadi rum. a few bedouin families live in these parts; and the desert patrol corps keeps an eye out for drug smugglers and lost tourists !!! between the government rest house and the rock face of jebel rum are the ruins of the 1 st. century nabataean temple. but the main attraction is the desert; jeeps 4x4 will take you into a moonscape where towering black - and - crimson weathered cliffs rise in dramatic majesty above pink sands. and how often in your life are you served refreshments in a bedouin tent ?guests can buy souvenirs from a souvenir shop available at the rest house of wadi rum, they should bargain to get good deals !!

We use covered jeeps in wadi rum which can accommodate up to 8 persons each jeep, but we put only 4 persons in each jeep  (one seat next to driver , three in the back seat ) the remaining are side seats which we try to avoid unless you do not mined and your group will be comfortable. we usually inform the center of wadi rum of your guests arrival so they along with our staff are ready for a special attention and services.
